NFL UNIFORM RANKINGS: TEAMS IN THE DIVISIONAL ROUND & ONWARD

Who will come out on top?

A highly debated part of all sports is "who has the best uniforms?" When supporting a team, style is a big part of boasting to others why "your team" is better. As the saying goes, look good, play good so in an era where fashion is becoming a bigger part of the mainstream, supporting a team with aesthetically pleasing jerseys is an eagerly accepted victory.

Onto the rankings

#8: Tennessee Titans

Coming in at last of these 8 teams are the Titans. Though I wouldn't say their jerseys are bad, I wouldn't cheer their praises either. The base navy color is too bland to be interesting and not quite simple enough to achieve the effortless sleek look that a black base would have. Simply put, a majority navy jersey is rather boring. However, the baby blue highlights do grab my attention and when the Titans choose instead to opt for the lighter blue jerseys, they shoot up in the rankings.

#7: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Slightly edging out the Titans are the Bucs. With a more sleek design, utilizing a white base, the Buccaneers lean into the classic red-white-black color scheme that many teams have employed for so long. However, what keeps them this low is the fact that of all the teams using red and white on this list, their uniforms are the least interesting.

#6: Cincinnati Bengals

With a refreshing pop of color, the Bengals rank above the Bucs. Though only one ranking separates the two, in reality there is a sharp jump in quality of uniform. The striking orange of a bengal is their primary color which suits the team well as they too have been a surprise team this year. Though the orange is an eye-catcher, the striped helmets are what knock them down a few notches. Though it pairs well with their orange jerseys, when using the predominantly white uniforms, the helmet looks out of place. Due to its inconsistency, the Bengals rank here at 6th.

#5: Los Angeles Rams

Now, we're getting into the good uniforms. Utilizing a brilliant royal blue as well as a popping yellow, the Rams uniforms are sure to draw your attention. Not only is it an interesting color combination, but the use of such vibrant colors serves them well in letting them stand out from the rest. Additionally, the curling horns of a ram on the sides of the helmet are a model of what the Bengals wish they could've accomplished, a non-imposing reference to the name of the team.

#4: Green Bay Packers

Now in the top half, the Packers start us off with their ever iconic green and yellow uniforms. A green jersey is rare and to be paired with a bright yellow is even more strange. However, it somehow seems to work. Though I would rank the Packers very close to the Rams, I had to give them the edge due to the legacy of the team and the history of the colors they use.

#3: Buffalo Bills

Sporting an American red, white and blue, there is one word to describe the Bills' uniforms--clean. A beautiful blue that takes up the majority, but not too much of the jersey, paired with a white the color of fresh snow and a few red accents; the Bills' uniforms have no flaws. The blue and red striped decals seen on the helmet and side of the pants add just the right amount of flair to keep the design interesting and when paired with red gloves or cleats has the potential to pass the team ranked just above them.

#2: Kansas City Chiefs

Everyone knows the Chiefs Uniforms by a glance because of their playoff success in the last few years that has continually brought them to the limelight. Instead of a red-white-black color way that Tampa Bay opted for, the chiefs instead make use of a gold accent color. The bright red base is the definition of a color that pops and by fully leaning into the red with white and gold accents, I slightly edge the Chiefs out over the Bills. There's something about a bright red that never fails.

#1: San Francisco 49ers

To me, this is the clear victor. Like the Chiefs, the 49ers also make use of a red-white-gold color scheme, but somehow they do it even better. By making their primary accent color gold and their secondary white (the opposite of what the Chiefs did) the 49ers manage to make a uniform that evokes one word: royal. The gold of the 49ers is unlike that of the Chiefs as it is a less flashy and more regal gold, one that you look at and admire. Additionally, the 49ers, in my opinion, take the cake for best helmets of these 8 teams as there's not much out there that can beat a golden bucket. Lastly, the gold in the 49ers means more to me than it does with the chiefs. Gold is a part of the namesake of the team as the 49ers takes inspiration from the gold rush in American history. Overall, not only is there nothing I would change about the 49ers uniforms, I don't think that I could have come up with a better color combination myself if I were the one planning it all out. These uniforms are an example of a perfect artistic vision made reality.
